My first entry into the @homebarawards is in honor of my hubby’s 50th birthday. For which I planned a stellar surprise party where I served this cocktail batched and couldn’t keep the pitcher filled it was so popular!
The ingredients and garnish were determined not only by the January “What the G@rnish?!” theme, but also by my husband’s love of whiskey, wine and watches!
And oooh, that color! It’s absolutely beautiful and has a smooth and refined taste just like my man!
Recipe:
2 oz Jameson’s Irish Whiskey
2/3 oz Cynar
1 1/2 oz ruby port wine
2 dashes Fee Brothers orange bitters
Place all ingredients in cocktail mixing pitcher over ice, stir, then strain and pour over ice ball in rocks glass.
PS: I used a Taylor Fladgate Yeatman vintage port for this.
PPS: If I were doing a normal garnish, I would serve with an orange twist.
Cheers! Let me know how you like it!
